I've downloaded and installed test release 09. Once again things worked very well. But there is one definite problem with this release (as well as 08) when running under Cygwin. My Spybot can follow a line, and flash pretty lights, thanks to BricxCC & NQC. It was quite easy to do. Next, I'll be turning it into a super-heavyweight sumo bot... I just installed BrickOS using the install docs for windows (via cygwin). Work fine first try. Took a long time tho since I was lazy and install everything in cygwin rather than picking through and only taking what was required for BrickOS. (...) (23 years ago, 19-Nov-02, to lugnet.robotics)

This is probably my favorite Lego-related website out there. :) Great article there too; I need to try that pressure test sometime. Hello, I don't get lnpd to work properly on my sytem. It seems impossible to receive lnp packages. It is no problem to send packages via lnpd to the rcx, but from the rcx to the pc doesn't work. I have found irrefutable (is that a word?) evidence that technic is alive. I do not mean technic as some parts in other themes, spybotics or bionicle but the theme technic as in vehicles. Even if Lego withdrew 50% of Technic parts, Technic would still be a richer "medium" to work in than Knex IMHO. I'm not sure why people are so worried about Technic going away. It also turns out that there are 8 bytes of external RAM that peek through at addresses 0xff80-0xff87. Writes to these locations also affect the motor control register. On the other hand FLL has grown to 2100 teams in the USA and there are no signs that this movement is slowing down. Seeing as how there's been little traffic here recently, I thought I'd post about something I found that's cleared up a little mystery (for me at least). I did a little review of the "10 Cool Projects" book from Syngress for the Dark Side Developers kit (DSDK) a little while ago. hi first, i would like to congratulate the Lejos team. When i bought Mindstorms, didn't imagine i was going to use it with my favorite programming language! Click on "Start:" then "Run" and type "msconfig" and click "OK". Select the "startup" tab and look for the RIS program and un -check the box. Click on "apply " and "ok" and restart the computer. It's being auto-started in the registry, which is why you can't seem to find it. Be very careful in the registry... one accidental keystroke can cause you one major headache! This happened to me on Windows 2000. Here's how I aleviated the problem: Be sure to always backup you're registry before changing ANYTHING in it. Run Regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\S...ersion\Run and delete the entry (I am at work-can't (...) (23 years ago, 11-Nov-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I successfully installed RIS 2.0 on a Windows XP system. However, whenever I restart XP the RIS2.0 software wants to startup.
