About the most economical way to install a compass is the Dinsmore analog unit. It has two analog outputs which you will need to do some serious processing on, they aren't sin and cos, so you have to do a sort of arctan and then lookup table (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Thanks. When I do that I get to a page with a number of book titles on the left. I then select the Mindstorms book, and get to a page that appears to just advertise (add to cart) the book. I think I've discovered my hangup with the redraw capability. It is likely that it does not need a line following method. What exactly needs to be done to 'upgrade' DJGPP to work with the new LegOS? Are these same changes required for cygwin? I have found that using proportional timeslicing works great in many situations. It is more forgiving for new developers, since a "runaway" process will not block processes of lower priority. I wondered why they included NQC in the Ada/Mindstorms distribution so I d/led all 26MB or so and tried it out. In turns out that they compile the ADA code into NQC code. Hello Laura, For ease-of-use and easy-to-learn I would rethink the Robolab decision. Robolab 2.5 does support the USB tower and its highest levels has some very powerful language capabilities. Try Gordon's brick programmer. It's an interesting halfway house between Lego's graphical but rather limited offering and an actual written language like NQC. It's a free download, I just don't remember where it comes from at the moment. Maybe (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I didn't want to have to write my programs for LegOS and then type a ton of commands only to find that I made a mistake. So I downloaded UltraEdit-32 9. There isn't a GUI for LegOS. I have my Visual Studio set up to do all the stuff I need to do when writing programs with LegOS.
