You can use a motor to control both New or Old Switch Point easily, there are 5 switch points in my layout, some are new type and some are old type, all of them can be controlled by RCX smoothly! (...) No, the switches are WAY to stiff. You have to open up the switch and shave off most of the bumps that cause the friction... There's lots of delicate stuff in there. (...) The "left" part? The RCX will be needed up at the top right part. That's where the Hogwarts switch is (well, closer to it anyway), and the Willow will be located just to the left of the mountain ridge, behind Hogsmeade station. Shouldn't the (...) (...) Great! Where is the hole or is it completely hidden? Can you leave a little hole facing the middle of the layout so that I can IR it commands without having to remove it each time? (...) Just want to add: I've left some room inside the mountain's left part to put/hide the RCX. The wires can run out of the tunnel and under the track to whatever they need to connect to.
