I said "whatever" because I sensed you had more to say on the matter, which
you obviously do. Did I not say "everyone has their thing" and for
collectors "to collect away and enjoy their collection"? How much more
inclusive would you like me to be? There was no need for further
clarification, you were trying to drum the point some more. Point taken, and
never disagreed with by the way.

<snipped discussion>
Not that I disagree, but again you've tagged this sentiment in reply to my
post.

Not that you disagree with what?

Not that I disagree with what you had wrote above before! Is what I am
typing so hard to follow or are you just trying to f*ck with me?

<snipped my comments>

Great, (aside from the loaded words)

Loaded words? Look who's talking.

but I don't see the connection to
collectors, per se. This is a connection you seem to be making and it smacks
of class warfare, something we have been through before and something I'd
rather avoid.

This is a connection YOU'VE made, note that I said "in life, in general."
You keep putting things on a level of "warfare" along with "territory war"
and winning."  I think you are inferring more than what I have wrote,
perhaps connecting them with previous debates or arguements that I was not
involved in.

My point merely is that we should not denigrate those that enjoy the hobby
in other ways or for other reasons than we do.

Hey, if people want to collect something, go for it! Show me where I have
said otherwise.

You seem to be, at least by
association or inference, saying that there is an equivalence here...

collector==materialistic==greedy==morally wrong

Take this as far as you wish, I never said that or made such
generalizations. I did call LEGO collectors materialistic, greedy or
immoral. I do believe the hobby of collecting lends itself to materialism,
in varying degrees. I will not conceed this opinion so spare yourself the
breath.

If you *are* saying that I have an issue with it.

Great, have an issue with it. Jump on what I say as much as you wish: I AM
NOT FOND OF MATERIALISTIC, GREEDY PEOPLE. If that's you or your friends or
whomever, deal with it. Are you going to lecture me in morality?

If you *aren't* saying that, I think you need to be clearer in your speech
because you sure are leaving that impression. IMHO. And that's divisive,
which I'd rather not see.

Perhaps you'd be doing yourself a favor by not responding to my posts. I'm
not out to pester or harass you. Just know that every time you stick in to
challenge me, I'm not giving an inch.

Dan

TYPO IN MY PREVIOUS POST, PLEASE CORRECT: (...) I meant "I did NOT call LEGO collectors...etc" I mistakenly left out the NOT in that sentence. Let it be clear that I did NOT call LEGO collectors materialistic, greedy or immoral. Dan (23 years ago, 14-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) Thanks for that clarification. Rephrasing it, what I see you saying is that you're never wrong about anything, or at least never willing to admit it, and that you never misstate anything, or at least never see any need to ever correct anything (...)
