Interesting. I think Mega Bloks is directly responsible for saving The Lego
Company. If not for Mega Bloks successfully taking a portion of the market share
and forcing TLC to reevaluate its direction of straight down the toilet a few
years ago, TLC would be in a very bad position. Even this year with the new
designer, inventor, and NASA sets, most of the best sets currently available are
only through shop at home. The average consumer doesn't even know about S@H. (I
used to work at a K.B Toys, I know.) Just remember without Mega Bloks, TLC will
stagnate and die. I have a strong brand preference to Lego so I do not want to
see that happen. Competition breeds quality and value. At the same time if
another company offers something I want that TLC does not, I will reward the
company that sells what I want to buy.
