Stopped at my local Target yesterday. Checked the LEGO aisle (of course!), and saw the Robotics Invention System 2.0 set on clearance for $99.99, 50% off the regular price. As a buyer and seller on ebay and bricklink I will try to answer your questions. I do not think that there is general solution on giving feedback. The biggest set I've been able to find--after stopping at 4 Kmarts in the (...) I went to a K-mart near work and they had one Republic Gunship @ $84.99, but it wouldn't ring up with 20% off, so I had to fight with them to honor their ad :) Ended up (...) I've just returned from the Super K, empty handed unfortunately. I'd suggest that you go check Maggie. I was pleasently surprised that my local Kmart here in Garfield Heights actually had all of the sets except the Republic Gunship, and had them in quantity. Two thoughts come to mind. You could get someone you know who has a higher feedback help you out. Or, you could buy some stuff to get your feedback started, and then put your items up. Isn't there a neutral choice? Perhaps this is where comments like, "Worked hard to replace defective parts" could land. Holy crap, that is CRAZY. Barely a FOTY, let me know if anybody else can top this for FOTC. Most of a yellow castle for $2 aint shabby, and $6 for a Monorail is tear-inducing, but all that stuff (mint condition?! This is rediculous!) for $500 is (...) Greg, As a fellow AFOL and an EBAY seller, I will reply as a seller. I think that your approach to only buying from sellers who themselves are fans of Lego is a good place to start. How many people have purchased a "used, but 100% complete set" from e-Bay or Bricklink only to find that it's not true when it arrives 4-6 weeks later from overseas? I stopped by one of the local GoodWill stores today, not really expecting to find anything. I was pleased to find one of the "chip 'n' dip" baseplates for $1 and didn't expect to find much more.
