Okay guys,
I hate to brag, so I did not post this back in early March when I made the
once in a lifetime score of all scores, but I’m going to go ahead and have
some fun. My good buddy Ed, knows I collect Lego’s, and he just happened to
look in the newspaper in the city where he lives one day. Well there just
happened to be a guy who put an add in the paper saying he wanted to sell
his entire Lego collection for about $750.00. I am very leery of buying
used Lego’s, especially if I don’t see them myself before hand. So, I told
my friend to ask if the guy would be interested in $500.00. If the guy was
interested, my friend would meet him at his storage unit to look at them.
Well, as it turns out, my friend went home that day with 7 LARGE rubber made
tubs that filled his truck bed. I mailed him off the $500.00 for the stuff
and about 2 weeks later he showed up at my front door with the stuff. The
following list is what I got not counting all the little sets (all in MINT
condition with mint instructions!):

I used LUGNET to find out the value of the sets, and the total value came
out to $3382.00!!! Not counting the little stuff!!!
I sold 4 sets so far that I had already and made back $355.00 of my $500.00.

| Holy crap, that is CRAZY. Barely a FOTY, let me know if anybody else can top this for FOTC. Most of a yellow castle for $2 aint shabby, and $6 for a Monorail is tear-inducing, but all that stuff (mint condition?! This is rediculous!) for $500 is (...) (22 years ago, 20-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)
