hmm not liking that too much......

how about this suggestion:

If a character dies, why not (if) the player didnt want his character dead,
make him pay X amount of funds to have him revived at a church or something.

.....or make the player do a quest/campaign of some sort to find a magic
item to have his character revived, it doesn't have to be easy, but they
should have a chance to have the dead character revived.

It gives the player a better chance, cuz the (dead) character may have a
skill, that would increase the % of the parties survival.

I think its a reasonable idea......

It doesnt matter if the player doesnt want one of his characters dead.
This isnt the IOM. you have control over the character, but if it comes to
combat or harsh elements or something, he dies. The gamemaster desides.
I guess an expediton to get a magic item to revive him doesnt sound bad, but it
would be probably the most difficult scenario ive ever drempt up.

With that exeption, if a character dies, hes dead. He might be dead because he
did something stupid, or just had bad luck. but it takes away part of the fun
if you can just keep reviving the characters. The point is of the game is to do
your mission or whatever, and not get killed.

Oh, and besides, if you got killed way out on the borders of the unknown,
hundreds of miles from the MM and its town, where are you going to find a
church? and besides, it would mess up the whole party and adventure if they had
to truck a characters body back just so he wont get ressurected.

Done ranting
