There's more oil in the oil-sands of northern Alberta than in all of Saudi Arabia and the Oil Sands Discovery Centre along with APEGGA has a "LEGO Engineering" event each year. Yes, his AT-AT is MOST impressive. To be fair(biased more likely). I preferred his AT-AT to yours(Shaun) and Dave's(Eaton???). Currently the head is single position only, but he's planning to try and give it some mobility. Same basic problem as the legs: the (...) His knees don't bend; the only articulation is ankles and hips (but the ankles are *so* cool!) I think he ran into the same problem (...) (...) Yes, the elevators work. One of them is set up with the grain bins dumping back down into the feeder bin so that it can run unattended and actually shift "grain" (1x1 round bricks). That was the control for the automated switches. I'm not sure how exactly it technically worked, but I did get to play with it. That is the front of the elevators, and is the side that faces the crowd. There are doors that can close, but we leave them open so the crowd can see the grain elevators working. You can put two on the track power connectors where they connect to the track, one on the end of the 9volt wire, and a couple on the studs of each speed (...) Our train layout this last weekend was a great success, and we again collected the 2nd place "people's choice" award. Our major goal this year was to have lots of automation, and I think we managed to acheive it. Highlights include: fully automated (...) 1) We don't cover our tables with bricks (they are painted LEGO brick green), we use spring loaded clamps to hold the tables together (they're about a $1 a piece at Home Depot) 2)I always take a few pieces of cardboard with me to shim up the tables (...) For the train clubs that use folding legs, I was wondering if you could answer the following: 1. If you don't have enough Lego bricks to cover the entire surface of the talbles, how do you hold the adjacent tables together? 2. Do you have a problem (...) I agree that the folding legs are the way to go if you want to save space in transporting them and setting up. I used the "conventional" bolt on legs for a year and that was all I could take. The GMLTC used 30"x45" tables for our last layout (actually just a skosh longer on each dimension to avoid module buckling). This size is convenient because (...)
