Eh, if I can butt in here...
There have been complaints over Dinky (let's use the poor little guy's name,
here), but they have been rebuffed not only by Taco Bell but by the NAALP
(National Association for the Advancement of Latin People) as being ridiculous
(the NAALP stepped in because the original complaints came from an NAALP
member, and claind to be on behalf of the entire NAALP, which was not true).
The NAALP has consistantly lauded Taco Bell for being sensitive to the
potential for negative stereotypes, and actively working with the NAALP to
avoid them.
Now. Other than the dog's accent, can you tell me in what way he is a
"stereotype" of Latin-Americans?
