In lugnet.off-topic.debate, Larry Pieniazek writes(heavily snipped):

Stripping away all the commentator's gafla...

Stripping away all Scott's gafla...

Sorry, Lar, but I think you've broken the duly established "gafla" limit
for a single post.  8^)

What matters to us is that libertarian ideas (small l) are catching on. We
don't have to win elections to achieve that.

Would that be sufficient for the LP?  To have a significant influence on
the course of government even if the LP doesn't itself field any players?
In that case, I'd have to agree with you, in that personal responsibility
and bureaucratic downsizing of the kind espoused by libertarians (small l)
would by definition benefit society.
Having said that, and taking at face value the citation by www.m-w.com,
which identifies 1789 as the year "libertarian" was coined, I wonder if
libertarian (again, small l) ideas have been "catching on" for 2+ centuries,
while Libertarianism (big L) is in a way simply a crystalization of those ideas.

I confess that... I thought you were talking about a Mexican dish.

"Waiter, I'd like the libertarian Chilli, please, hold the socialism."

Repeating the original cite and with much snippage of multiple quotes, irrelevancy, signatures, etc (the interested reader knows how to follow references upwards, or should), as always: (...) I'll repeat my analysis of this theme (that (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
