Perhaps this will help you understand my postion a little better. On a scale
of
1 to 10, 10 being the best and 1 being the worst.  The US invading Iraq
without
the support of the UN would be a 3. Nuking the entire Earth would be a 2.
Doing
nothing would be a 1.

Utter obliteration is better than allowing a petty dictator to exist?  Words
fail me.

I think you misunderstood me. By "doing nothing" I don't mean about just
Saddam. I mean every dictator, even the ones the US is friendly toward. Untill
all of the people of the world are free from tyranny, (including but not
limited to US and Israeli tyranny as well, Scott) there will never be world
peace. We could stick our head in the sand and pretend that the 'bad people'
don't exist, but until we (the collective we, as in anyone who values freedom)
do something nothing will ever change for the better. I happen to think freedom
is worth fighting for. If that makes me a crazy war-monger in some people's
eyes then so be it.

I don't see how obliterating everything helps those under dictatorships.  I
also don't see the point in risking what freedom we have to help people who
don't want it or can't maintain it.  I think you statement goes way beyond
Patrick Henry's.

"Where's Major Petrucelli?"
"Yeeeeee-HAAAAAAAAA!"

I am curious as to what that is in reference to.

Dr. Strangelove, Major Kong (Slim Pickens) riding the bomb down to
obliteration, but enjoying every second of it.

(...) If they actually knew what freedom was, would they still not want it? Until everyone is free, peace will never exist. I think it would be worth the cost of both money and lives if we (everyone on Earth) could teach our grandchildren's children (...) (22 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
