No, Eric expected the curator of .build.mecha to update the links. That's a
tough thing to request when no curator has been named. If the curator doesn't do
the job then go to the next higher source. Locical? yep.
> Yet again I state - you could have learned FTX by now and updated the links.
and again I point out that the links can't be changed without curator status in
place. Anything less is a link off my own FTX pages and that just isn't what's
needed.

That wasn't the problem to begin with, but continue your rant please.

Okay, let me try this again...I'll type in .build.mecha, attempt to alter the
links and fail miserably as has happened for the past nine months. Altering
links on my page is simple. Altering links on other pages is not.
> You still haven't gotten my point, have you?
Of course he did. You only need to use the ice pick once to get his attention.

False. He asked for something to be done about it rather than wait another nine
months for a possible resolution. Had the curatorships been in place, Eric's
post would never have occurred and he would never have been flamed for it.

Very true, but when negativity is all that is thrown your way....

That was just plain rude and uncalled for. Eric wanted a resolution from either
Suz or the mecha community. When the usual castle/pirate/train/town people
decided to make it their business, he got upset (rightfully so).

My point-He did. He got the ball rolling that may FINALLY get .build.mecha a
curator who wants to update the links and care for .build.mecha the way we all
care for LUGNET.

Fair enough, Tom. I challenge you to update the sidebar links of .off-
topic.clone-brands. Don't tell me you can't do it because you obviously can do
it without being the curator. IF Eric had the power to update the links, don't
you think he'd do it? I know he would.

sarcastic comments can be left at the door. They don't add anything to the topic
at hand.

Why listen to those that don't know what they are talking about?

That's GenY. GenX made our millions (and lost them) with the cyberboom a couple
of years ago. Eric's no slacker, that's for certain. If he were, you'd see a
much less prolific builder/poster.

You still don't get the point. Time was never the issue. Having someone to talk
to about updating .build.mecha was.

| Dave, I got the point from Eric's posts in .debate. I can't help the fact that he NEVER mentioned that you (and others) were actively attempting to become curators. He simply stated noone would step up to a curator position. That's quite different (...) (23 years ago, 9-May-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
