Pricing is a little whacky on some elements in some colors, but that comes from Lego looking at a grey brick as the same as a red brick since they probably cost them the same to make. Is that like those compressed-air automatic door dampeners and closers? IMHO, that's a really poor substitute for real pneumatics, and is in no way hydraulic. Hydraulics? I can't ever remember seeing any mention of LEGO developing hydraulics. If they are going to be using hydraulics, though, I think they'd better be using better hoses and fittings, fluid isn't that easy to hold under pressure. -- Cheers (...) This is to Brad. Why is Lego not making pneumatics. I ordered to sets of hoses, switches, and cylinders and only got the cylinders. Is the hydraulics taking over? Hey, you could always take the color in question down to your local hardware or paint store and ask them to stick it into their computerized color matcher, that would be about as accurate as you can get using today's technology!! Not sure if this has been discussed here yet. Just doing some number crunching. In trying to figure out how a simple brick is priced, I derived a price per stud rate, i.e.; a 2x4 brick is 8 studs. Slopes and inverse slopes aren't "basic" bricks, though ;-) I consider them essential, especially corner slopes and INVERSE corner slopes (too dang hard to get in sets these days).
