Re: Torso number was Forestman Torso was Voting Page

(...) So waittaminut. I read you writing that 9326 *was* a number for the composite torso-with-arms-and-hands, but is not any longer used for that purpose. The 9xxx numbers were an earlier composite range. New parts are made with 5-digit numbers. So (...) (25 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Working on Part 30384

(...) There is still a 'primitives committee' which discusses new primitives before they are released. We decided awhile ago to not introduce new primitive files, until/unless they were actually used in a file. Which is why the ldraw/p/ directory (...) (25 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Coz they didn't? The nut is a unique part, as far as I can tell. It is round, and ribbed on the outside (ribs parallel to the axle), and I've never seen a part that could be machined down to make it. (well, not easily, you could probably (...) (25 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Torso number was Forestman Torso was Voting Page

(...) Chris, you seem to by the "torso guy" around here, so if you have a good plan for those pieces, then go for it. And on another note, it has come to my attention that 9326 is NOT the torso number. I really hate to say this, but we need to move (...) (25 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) That is the same question I had about the construction. :-) And I liked Joshua's logic about the number. It groups them numerically very nicely, and saves using 3-digit #'s, so why not? (...) I would think so - without actually seeing the (...) (25 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: 99-03 Voting: Quick Comments

(...) I wish I knew for a _fact_ that this is (was) the case, but I can't say so with any certainty. I would suppose that using an existing mold to create an axle, and then cutting threads into the element, makes a lot more sense than trying to (...) (25 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Working on Part 30384

Ok, I've made significant progress on this part (Thanks John! Thanks Steve!). In the process, I have made 3 "new" primitives (actually modifications of existing ones): 1-4con1 1-4ring3 1-4ring10 These were necessary to maintain the geometry, though (...)
