  Live Robot Video

I am playing with Live Robot Video tonight (Oct 27). If you want to help me test this out, follow this link: (URL) is only an experiment, so your mileage may vary. BTW, I am using an Emerson 900MHZ wireless camera running on batteries. A totally (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mindstorms

(...) Yes, you do need a PC to program the RCX brick. (That can be a intel-based PC, or a Mac, or whatever.) Some of the newer stuff like the Scout brick don't require a PC, but then, they're not very exciting. (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: I wonder where he got the scans from?

Sorry for the late reply, but... I don't think it is illegal to buy or sell CDs with Lego instructions scans - I've bought six such CDs from various sources. Unlike video tapes which all have the FBI warning and software which always has the user (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) Whatever it is Lego got it right. It is the most trouble free rail I have ever worked with in model railroading. High chrome/nickel steel is my guess. - Jim -- (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.trains)

From my point of view and my area of interests the robotics threads are structured fine. But if I think (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)

  RE: Double echo

(...) Yes, it should. The issue is that you never really know if the stack will blast through the 256 byte boundary, unless HAT checks it. You generally allocate small stacks, so HAT could be modified to FORCE the data stack to start at the boundary (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

Re: !!! Laser attachments for Mindstorms !!!

Re: !!! Laser attachments for Mindstorms !!!

(...) In fact the rotation sensors work much better for this, because they will easily tell you when you stopped in any direction. It is much more complex to build a bumper which surrounds the RCX and can detect hits from most any direction. I did (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I found the real URL by taking the fake V3-URL and decapitalizing the word "LEGO" on a hunch. It worked out. Those V3 URL's aren't worth messing with anyway. --Todd (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Group to discuss Teaching Lego Robotics?? lugnet.robotics.teaching ???

Todd, your point about handyboard is well taken. And there are many real-world reasons why successful groups grow to cover many allied topics. The WEB is about "not having to know where everything is, to use it". Lots of people connect to Websites, (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)

  Re: 64K UPGRADE

Yes, you can upgrade your HB to 64K and then use Interactive C on it. After the reset HB operates in a 32KB mode that is compatible with the original HB memory mapping. Your C code, however, shouldn't use the PD5/SS pin on the HC11 as it s used to (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I've been reviewing some great mech designs on lugnet of recent. I'd like to get some info on making workable joints for arms and legs. ROFLOL :D I LOVED Artilery D2. A bit tongue-in-cheek there. I hate it when toy companies take a particularly lame character (not that R2 is lame) from a sci-fi movie and kit them out with the mega-constructo-deat...-packorama just to sell it to the (...)
