Well waiting for our baby which is now 3 days late I started brainstorming about a new car design to go along with my boxcars. I decided to try a Gondola and threw together this prototype last night. Hi all, The Greater Florida LEGO Train Club will have a large display at the H & R Trains Fall Show, October 6-7-8 2000 in Pinellas Park, Florida. Just make sure to add in a powered door if you cut a hole in the wall - otherwise, you'll get too much sound transmission between the rooms. You can do it all Lego with a Mindstorm brick, or just be lazy and use a switch, timed relay, and Lego (...) (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains)

I may well be a unique voice within PNLTC but one never knows..... Actually, PNLTC is nearly 30 members now and thus many opinions are represented. We concur on many issues. A funny thing happened while I was reading this thread. I got a call from the local chapter of the NMRA, the SER-Piedmont Division. Even though I agree that we (LTCs) don't "need" the NMRA, I do enjoy attending the meetings here locally. I find it very educational and really pick up a lot of good ideas that I might have missed. I realize that I announced this once before but that was a more limited announcement as the Shelf Railway was not quite complete. PS This model is "technically" 8 wide. Hear that John Neal? I say that because it has steps at the center and the bottom step, below the door, sticks out a stud from the body. This is prototypical, but it makes the body 8 wide, just in that spot. (...) (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains)
