I can definitely second this. I use two stage sorting when sorting new
sets. Actually, in some cases I use single stage sorting. Certain parts
go through single stage sorting, I have three trays from 1298 which have
24 compartments each. Many of the small and specialty parts get single
stage sorted into these trays. I use 6-8 compartment trays from Technic
and Model Team sets for other two stage sorting. What is key is having a
decent number of bins you can reach without having to shuffle things too
much (due to one of my tables being taken over by my in progress castle
MOC, I have less sorting space).
Of course sorting something like a GMLTC module is different due to the
number of bricks. You need large capacity bins, which means you can't
reach very many.
I try and mix my building and sorting, though I am concentrating on
sorting right now (I'm a bit stuck on my castle, plus I don't have any
more room to display models, plus I really want to get the sorting inout
queue down to a level where I feel like it might actually finish some
day).
