One thing I'm curious about is how many of those who feel we don't need
to be part of the NMRA have been involved in model railroading outside
of LEGO Trains?
As a model railroader, and someone who truly hopes that the hobby will
continue despite all the possibilities of computer entertainment etc. I
really do feel that it is to everyone's interest to court the NMRA.
I think we have a legitimate sub-hobby of model railroading, plus I
think it is a great way to make model railroading more accessible (and
not just to kids, many people find their ability to work with fine
detail is greatly diminished as they get older).
