  install on Windows ME?

Hello. I wonder if it's possible to install legOS 0.2.6 according to the new docs at: (URL) on Windows ME? If not I wonder which version would be ok to install? (23 years ago, 24-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: Interactive communication with the RCX

I don't think collision detection will be possible since the hardware/firmware does a checksum (at least in lego firmware), and no message is provided to the VM software (LASM), this prevents ACK/NAK protocols working. The Message() function does (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Two RCX with one IR-Tower

The 'usual' way to get status data is to poll the the RCX memory for status information, but you can't do that because of the number of RCX bricks; so how about getting each RCX to send a response message (or series of messages) to the PC encoding (...) Stig, a couple years ago I was in the same place you are. I got one for xmas when it first came out. I was rather disappointed in the limitations of the LM, so I gave it to a 13 year old budding engineer. In retrospect, I guess I just didn't have (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics)

constructing a new network protocol for LegOS

Hi! We're a group from Aalborg University who are about to design and implement a new network protocol for LegOS.   RE: Not totally satisfied with the Lego Mindstorm concept: Mathematical variables and direct connection PC/mechanical device

You need to look up pbForth (or is it pBrick?) and NQC. Those are two languages for the rcx that have variables -- specifically math, as I'm not sure if there are strings for the RCX. But I digress, those have variables. My guess, and I am taking a (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics)
