I don't think this will work. There are two kinds of IR comms out there,
one kind is called 'IRda' and is used for computer-to-computer types
of communications and the other kind is the sort that TV remotes use.
The Lego adaptor is of the second kind and your Laptop will be using the
IRda type - so they won't work together.
