Oh, I watched the entire series twice through in the course of about a year (I
missed a few eps the first time around, but I think I caught them all the second
run through). Besides, shes a Cardassian, not a Kazon (and after the ad they
ran, it was crystal clear exactly why they brought her back the instant they
showed her on screen again). And I didnt object so much to the use of the
Kazon at all (though they had the stupidest hairdos ever seen in any sci-fi show
ever) but the fact that they were the primary bad guy for TWO FREAKIN
YEARS!!!!!! And they werent that scary either. And what was up with the idea
of having an entire section of the galaxy where water is so scarce that its a
valuable commodity? Are the not using deuterium (made from the most common
element in the universe, no less) to power their matter/anti-matter reactions
like the Federation? Are they not breathing oxygen like the Federation? If
theyve got both of those, how hard can it be to burn some hydrogen off and get
a cup o the wet stuff?

I will say that some of the episodes were very enjoyable; the true enjoyment
of these ST:N series is the years of character development a long run
provides.

And thats exactly why I prefered B5. They had real character development.
Characters died (and not because the actors decided to leave the show). Others
fought tooth and nail to climb their way to the top of the political pile. Some
found themselves breaking off friendships with just about everyone they knew.
And just because someone appears to be a good guy today doesnt mean they always
will. A few characters found love, a few others struck out more than once, and
still others went the entire series without once admitting their feelings to the
subject of their affection. I dont think Ive ever seen any two serial sci-fi
characters go through as much character growth as Vir Cotto did in five years.

Why didnt Q appear on ST:E the first year! John De Lancie is
Gold:-)

Oh, geez, they didnt bring him back for Enterprise, did they? I mean, the
character is neat and all, but I thought the premiere of TNG established that
hed never made his presence known to the Federation/Starfleet before that day.
Or has that also been wiped from the slate of time by the overuse of temporal
travel?
