I didn't want to list a bunch of criticisms of what I thought was an awesome
inaugural event. I can't say enough how much I appreciate and applaud all of
Matt's hard work. With that in mind however I do have a couple of
suggestions that might make 2003 run smoother.

1. Have people specifically designated as staff, I hung close to the sign in
table, and whenever Matt left to take care of something any one who had a
question or wanted to sign in was lost. Dan was a great help, but I think it
would be easier for all the attendees if official staff members were easily
identifiable.

2. Maybe it was just the layout of the hotel, but there just didn't seem
like enough mingeling space, granted the goal was to have everyone attend an
event when they were going on, but many of the attendees wanted to just meet
and greet with people they only knew through lugnet. I felt really bad for
Ashley who had a truely remarkable presentation, but was almost drowned out
by the muttering crowd (of which I was a part) near his area.

3. Better club involvement, I know we here in Lugola are hard ones to pin
down, but many of us felt that we had little input, and were largely just
observers. I have no real suggestion for improvement here, but I know more
of us would have attended if we had felt more a part of the event.

4. This is a completely selfish request, but Matt and I were not the only
two with young children attending the event, I think it would be great if we
could swing some bulk bricks and organize a free building area, for both
kids and adults to throw something together and occupy our time.

February works for me, and I eagerly look forward to BF2003. Once again let
me know if there is anything I can do to help.

  A BricksWest Critique?

BricksWest Attendees, On the eve of the BrickFest 2002 gathering, I would like to have input from those that attended BricksWest 2002 gathering their opinions and critique of the event in the hopes that additions and changes and ideas can be taken (...)
