OK, I've finished this primitive, but before I re-submit it, I need to know a couple of things... Just what do I call the DAT file? On my PC's hard drive, I'm calling it "RND-CRNR.DAT". (pulls out inventory of set) the "horn" piece is available as "plant tree palm body" the 4 pronged rotor piece doesnt exist at all the piece with the towballs exist but its only a mock-up the flexible axles do exist the ribbed tubing does exist the (...) all of the parts are available for the 8448 except for the wheels, I dont know about the other 2 sets, I think that all of the parts for the 8445 are available but I think there are some missing for the 8444. It seems to me that every so often someone posts about not being able to get to www.ldraw.org. I'm concerned with some problems that users of the site may have getting to it - its definitely frustrating every time a site goes down. One thing I'd (...) (...) You can use the "Line Intersect" tab on my rotate.xls spreadsheet (get it from (URL)). It's only 2D, but you can do XY first, then XZ. The resulting XYZ values will be your intersection. I would like to bring under your attention that in the past year some "Needs Work" parts actualy have been fixed by authors other than original ones. However, my understanding of linetype 5 is that you will normally use adjacent points in your overall curved shape for the two extra points. This is easy (...) The version of L3Lab I have (1.2, which appears to be the current version) has a seams option in the View menu, as well as a toolbar button. Playing around with part-authoring, I've been trying a few different methods of generating pseudo-curved surfaces. I've noticed that different "facets" of such an approximate curve render with gaps between them in L3P and L3Lab, even when two (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
