I would like to bring under your attention that in the past year some "Needs
Work" parts actualy have been fixed by authors other than original ones. And
recently myself and other people did review some parts that didn't have the
"Needs Work"-tag on them, but definitly deserved to wear one in the state
we've found them in. Besides this there where several fixes for errors
reported by L3P. This means that at this moment some twenty fixed files are
ready to be incuded in one of the future updates.
Fixing files will always show slow progress, recently because attention was
very mutch focused on the extensive new range of SW-parts, and more in general
because this work is not so rewarding as writing a new part.

There is someting else I like to say about maintaning part quality, (and I
hope I do not hurt anyone's feelings doing so) I get the impression that in
the past not all voters have judged parts carefully, and failed (or ignored)
to see errors that are visable when you examine a part closly from other
angles than the standard view. The strange thing was that all those parts
simply made it through the votes. In fact, this made me giving up vote
participation. It didn't seem to be worth all the trouble I've put into it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't recall that a part ever was
rejected as a result of a vote, ever since I've joined Lugnet and his
predecessor (the Lcad-list, wasn't it)

Greetings. M. Moolhuysen.

(...) IIRC, several parts were rejected in one of the votes but that was the only time. Don't you remember the endless discussion about people being allowed to model parts that they don't have ? Leonardo (24 years ago, 12-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) I've been working on another one. The particular part I've been looking at was released in mid-1998, and it seems apparent that the tools available at the time had a big impact on the ability of the author to be thorough in modeling. (...) Not sure... I do not think that deleting them is the answer. (...) Is there a way we could put these parts on a html "page" somewhere for current parts authors to offer to fix them? (...) Sounds good! Paul (24 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
