I *was* able to successfully trace route to www.ldraw.org
by increasing the maximum number of hops.  Here is the trace route:

This indicates that there is no problem sending packets to www.ldraw.org,
and that they are coming back to you, but if there is a routing problem and
the packets are coming back via a different route to your PC that could be
why you can't access it via a web browser. Tracert (and ping) use ICMP
packets which don't require the returning data to follow the same route, but
HTTP uses TCP which does appear to require this (I've had problems here
trying to get my firewall working with 2 different ISPs for 2 different sets
of servers and ran into exactly the same behaviour where ping/tracert worked
but HTTP didn't).

I've compared your tracert and mine and I noticed that they take the same
route once they've got into bbnplanet in NY as shown by this line

11    44 ms    45 ms    46 ms  p6-0.nycmny1-br1.bbnplanet.net [4.24.6.58]

and

#10 p6-0.nycmny1-br1.bbnplanet.net (4.24.6.58): TTL Exceeded, ttl=243, 101
ms

As you can see your connection is quicker than mine, but you hit this router
on your 11th hop where it's the 10th on mine. Just that 1 hop could be
enough to cause the problems. It may be that there are just too many routers
between you and bbnplanet for the TCP packets to be able to travel
correctly, or 1 of them in between may be dropping packets for
www.ldraw.org - to determine this you would need to get hold of your ISP and
get them to check. If someone 1 hop upstream from you can connect OK but
anyone else at the same level as you can't then the only option will be to
find an ISP that has fewer hops to www.ldraw.org.

This is the *third* day I have been trying to access "www.ldraw.org" without success. I have *yet* to receive a response from a human being at Media One. No phone calls, no email (other than the original email from some anonymous techie at Media One (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
