I would recommend against such a thing. sounds unprofessional. TLG may only find such request for contact annoying and see it as coming from a niave view. It won't necessarily fry the chip. L293s (and the TI equivalent) have a thermal protection mode. If the chip gets too hot, it will turn itself off.
