Well, people already ARE doing things like this.  I buy sets that
have some parts I want but also parts others want.  But I'm getting
tired of it.

Yes, I know.  I'm one of them!   :)

If you want to keep doing the buy/sort/auction/sell thing that's up
to you, but you'll never be able to fill the kind of orders some
people would like to place - only TLG can do that.

Yes, I know this too.  My point was to use a large scale "bulk set" purchase
as a means of getting enough parts to show as a proof-of-concept that
something like this could work.  The idea would be to then get TLG to sell
bulk quantity of specific parts to us or to someone else who would act as a
distributor of those parts.  This takes much of the overhead involved off of
TLG, as all they have to do is make the parts, put them all in a big box,
and send them to us.

I'd like 500 pitchforks.  Who will provide those for me? :(

I do not believe these are currently available, so it would have to wait
until someone has enough clout to get TLG to produce more of an old part.
(And I don't think I want to know what you need 500 pitchforks for!)

Troy
