That may or may not be true, though. I remember reading several
accounts that indicate that TLG makes just enough of a part to fill
the need for that year's sets. So just because a certain Model Team
truck has a couple of train doors in it doesn't mean they have lots
of train doors laying around.
Now it may be true that because they are making a certain part for
sets that they would be more willing to produce that part in greater
quantities (in the same or another color, who knows) than a part for
which they would need to use another mold.
