How would you connect 2 different LTC layouts together when the way the transformers and therefore power distribution is different? Actually, lowering the voltage would lower the current draw too with a constant load. Of course a motor is anything but a linear load, and it does tend to draw more current at slower rpm. FWIW: I have two LEGO train transformers that are labeled for an output of 12 VAC and two that are labeled for an output of 11 VAC. Both rate the power output at 7 VA. One of my speed controllers is labeled for an input of 9-11 VAC, and three for an (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

This means, that now when we have 230V in Europe (European Union standard as it is between 220 and 240V and whitin the limits), that it will be app 5% more ~almost 14V. Okay, how's this for an idea: Most electronic stores stock a kind of universal power converter. These have several output settings, including 9v and 7.5 volt. If you use the 7.5 volt setting, the train never gets enough power to derail on curves. (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

PNLTC Tables - if you guys want to chat send us some mail. Ben Fleskes designed the tables and there has been several revisions. I agree with the sticker issue, however there is a fine line! I think stickers are OK if they only represent a logo, numbering or words. Thanks Larry, I actually borrowed the tile idea from LEGO land, Billund. They actually "side" entire houses with this technique, but they have a ton of 1x8 tiles... BTW spelling has always been a problem for me (darn phonics). I didn't know that (...) (25 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Well John I would want to copy the master peices they have made. I like the creativity that went into making realalistic designs of trains. On my last trip to San Diego I went to Legoland, CA. I must say that it is one of the coolest places I have ever seen. All of the displays are absolutely superb. Just some info for anyone that is trying to make a garden railroad. The distance from the inside of the rails is 73 mm. So if you want to make your garden railroad as close to the LEGOLAND trains then that would be the distance you would space the (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

When I worked in the factory (12 years ago) we had no contact with the brick molding people. We knew where they were, and every once and a while one of them would come out with a dumpster of deformed bricks. It looks like maybe a Chistmas Eve raid (...) (25 years ago, 17-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

My design is more straight forward and not as cool as Will's. I put a 5114 9 volt motor just behind the blade and simply ran an axle out of it. I get my power from a 5115 9 volt battery box (which has the two red switches for forward and reverse, (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)
