The Western Washington Fair(1), near Seattle, Washington has chosen the
Pacific Northwest LEGO Train Club(2) to provide this years' showcase train
centerpiece. All members of RTL and Lugnet are cordially invited to come by
and visit the new PNLTC layout.
Anticipating 400,000 people to visit the display, PNLTC has designed its
largest layout yet, measuring in at 25x32 feet. It will feature over 300
feet of train and monorail track, 8 major bridges including a 60" double
track span, and a fully-brickscaped 12-foot Trestle Bridge scene(3). There
will be open waterways, alpine train loops, cityscapes and train yards along
with a Seattle Space Needle, rail ferry, and a huge new western scene. Also
planned is a LEGO TrainCam. All this supports many new pieces of custom
rolling stock including a 10-unit model of the TGV.
The fair runs for three weeks, from September 10th through the 26th and
will be staffed the entire time by volunteers. Please come by and see
the train layout. We'd love to meet you. Times are Sun-Thur 10-10 and
Fri-Sat 10-11. Also known as the "Puyallup Fair", the fairgrounds are
located in Puyallup, Washington about 45 minutes south of Seattle.
If you are interested in volunteering at the show -- even running your own
rolling stock -- please contact Dan Parker at dnvpark@gte.net or call him at
(206) 298-0604 voicemail.
Thanks, and we hope to see you there!
