I believe the Tom Bombadil scene is going to be absent from the movie,
as it should be given that we're dealing with time, money, and
attention span problems here. Cutting the Bombadil scene has no effect
on the rest of the story.

Just remember that it would also be legal the other way around.

It might be a hell of a lot easier to do away with (state-sanctioned)
marriage altogether, and just let everyone decide on their own how
they wish to live.
