I don't want to make this sound like QB bashing,
but "My Country, Quebec'?
Terry, what gives?
It's like saying, "My Country, Ontario" or "My Country, Hamilton".
Why do some folks from Quebec want their province to be recognized as a country?
I really would like to know for I love Canada, I love being Canadian, and I
love my sisters and brothers from all parts of this wonderful country.

Because Québec never signed canada's constitution.  Because we don't speak
the same language.  Because Québécois and canadians have nothing in common.

I'm not Canadian, even if my passport says so.  And pretty soon, less than
20 years from now, we will be a country.

This kinda relates to what Dave and I were discussing a while ago.  He was
saying that unlike those awful Americans that resorted to violence, Canada
achieved its indpendence without firing a shot and had rebuffed joining the
Ameican revolution (presumably because they were so peaceful).  My answer
was what happened in the year 1759 and that Americans hadn't just recently
stolen the country from the French and didn't need British military might to
keep what so recently had been stolen (we peacefully bought it later on -
and yes, I pointed out the trampling of the Indians by all involved).
