I'll grant that the average person on the street isn't applying critical
thinking, and probably even many of us "smart" folks take the easy way
out frequently, but someone has to keep their mind open. Personally, I
don't think it actually takes a lot of people to keep things on an even
keel. For one thing, all you really need to do is convince one of the
major parties that your view is correct, and suddenly, you get all those
sheep voting for your view, then you just have to convince enough of the
critical thinkers (who probably sit in the middle between the two
parties) that your view is right.

Judging by a couple e-mails he sent me about another subject, I'd say
it's just par for the course.
