and desires":

I guess I have misunderstood the promise set forth in that missive?  After
making that original post, Brad Justus followed through many times to answer
stuff and relate directly to us, the consumers, just as he'd promised -- and
he proved it weren't no malarkey.  That set us up back then to kinda expect
a reply here and there to questions and stuff.

Do you think we could start again to get some responsive answers to our
needs and desires?  I don't think it's really out of place for us to ask,
since this was promised in no uncertain terms by none other than Brad Justus
Senior Vice President of LEGO Direct himself.

And just to throw in my $.02 on the issue, I have to agree with Todd. I
personally don't think that LD has really fulfilled what it claimed it was
trying to take on. Does that mean I don't appreciate the efforts made to
date? Not in the least. I'm actually very impressed with the amount of
response that we HAVE gotten. But to go back and read the official posts
made by members of LD, I can't help but feel that LD has lived up to its
high standards.

And in that respect, I'd probably like LD to be realistic, not political. I
mean, sure, it'd be great to promise us that you'd comment on every post and
try and contribute every week, or even every month-- or just give us notices
when major (or even minor!) things happen. But if that promise isn't
fulfilled, it's worse than having never made the promise to begin with--
even if you ARE committing to PART of that promise.

What I'd like to see is a realistic presentation of what to expect from LD,
if only to say that they'll mostl likely just listen, and mayhaps throw in a
comment now and again. And maybe now that LD has had some experience it will
know what it really CAN accomplish more realistically. And hey, if LD really
CAN and WANTS to create an interactive forum on Lugnet, that's great. All
the better. But if LD simply can't do it, or it's honestly not worth their
time, then they shouldn't go about saying that they will.

$.02,
DaveE

I really dislike posting simply to agree, but I agree with Dave very strongly and I have a feeling that this is one of those times when a single post will not get the point across, being dismissed as "one guy". Hey, is anyone at LEGO Direct gonna step up to the place and field these Mac questions? I don't wanna sound rude, but the message below was posted more than 2 weeks ago...still no reply from anyone at LEGO Direct. I prolly wouldn't even notice, (...)
