  1999 SWAT theme?

Check out the following: (URL) about half way down the article. Interesting..... -- John Hughes ICQ #5838958 AOL IM- Unitron 99 ___...___ The leaders in Web site development: (URL) (26 years ago, 27-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: New vs. old (was Re: More 1999 Figs... ?)

(...) The only fallacy in this line of reasoning is the quantity of female hair pieces that TLG made available in various town sets. I’ve always seemed to find that my biggest bang for my buck for specialized pieces was in the various themes that (...) (26 years ago, 27-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: New vs. old (was Re: More 1999 Figs... ?)

(...) [As I go to Pause to look at large Insectoid photos ;)] Another thing that comes to mind is that weird sound piece on the nose of that ship. It looks to clonish. I'm just trying to say that the sets of even as recent as three years ago focused (...) (26 years ago, 27-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: New vs. old (was Re: More 1999 Figs... ?)

(...) I'm often undecided about whether or not I like new pieces. The biggest factor that pursuades me is how useful I think it is across themes. Even purists argue amongst themselves saying that they won't use a piece until they think it useful, (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: New vs. old (was Re: More 1999 Figs... ?)

(...) I dunno. I've built several different ships using insectoid pieces -- and my creations don't look insectoid in the least.... (...) Yes, I agree heartily here. Even better if they would interface nicely with technic, for making walking (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: New vs. old (was Re: More 1999 Figs... ?)

(...) The problem (for me) is that the Insectoids sets (at least the smaller ones) are only really good for building that one model. They aren't as bad (in this respect) as Time Cruisers sets were, but they aren't as generally useful for building as (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Timmy

(...) In case no one got back to you, Timmy is the little boy head with round eyes and freckles. Came in the TimeTwisters and Freestyle sets. The green torsos with the T on them can be considered Timmy torsos. There's a rumor floating around (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: New vs. old (was Re: More 1999 Figs... ?)

(...) BTW, how many people integrate both the older and newer minifigs in their layouts? I've decided to have both in my town. It's kinda like having two different races. They are similar in many ways but there are some important differences too. (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: New vs. old (was Re: More 1999 Figs... ?)

(...) What other insectoids-specific parts? I think I've given you a comprehensive list. There's also the trans-yellow/green "eye" domes, but those seemed more generally useful than just insectoid, so I didn't count them. But even with those: three (...)   Re: Q: Piece Identification

(...) This piece seems to defy standard description. For a long time, I thought of it as a camera piece (and it does get used that way, sometimes). Some classic-space-heads call it a thruster. As much as I like qualitative part-names(1), it's (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: New vs. old (was Re: More 1999 Figs... ?)

(...) So you do not like new specialized pieces, is that correct? Well, I remember when the space theme appeared for the first time. The magnitude of new specialized pieces was huge! And I loved it! The more specialized pieces, the better. In my (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

(...) Those in general, plus other Insectoids-secific parts. I don't know for sure the magnitude of Lego's mold obsessiveness, since I don't own one. I think it was definitely a step in the wrong direction for them. Maybe if enough classic lovers (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

I'm a newbie, so which one is Timmy? The mini-fig head with white hair? Thanks. (26 years ago, 26-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)
