Different strokes for different folks (1). That rig will never get you even 10
points in a concours. And a 90 point concours T would never be seen at the
drag strip, much less have its E.T.s painted in the window.

Myself, I can admire both the radical rods and the perfect factory stockers.
(2), but the people I REALLY admire were the Buick Grand National ROM
reprogrammers! (3)

1 - ouch

2 - used to own an E-type that might, with a sympathetic judge, get 20 concours
points... but although it was not an "off the line" racer, it could out
accelerate 911s starting from 100mph, and to the untrained eye it was factory
stock.

3 - With a different ROM, mid 80s Regals are about the fastest thing GM ever
built that is still street legal. There was an active trade in these ROMs, and
I had an IBMer friend that got his to the point where it would turn amazing ETs
just by ROM tweaking.
