Re: Who has made LDD truck/bogie designs?

(...) That is a very cool and simple way to deal with the problem of long trucks. I'll file that one away just in case I ever need it. What I was really looking for, however, are different stylistic designs for dressing up trucks using pieces (...) (17 years ago, 24-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Weber County Scout Jamborall

(...) Mostly I am just bursting with pride that THE Jonathan Lopes had nice things to say about our layout. I aspire to eventually be able to build as well as he does. Spencer (17 years ago, 23-May-07, to lugnet.org.us.ulug, lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Weber County Scout Jamborall

(...) Spencer and Isaac have gone to great lengths to successfully incorporate the monorails into the layout. (...) We have received a lot of positive feed back over the telephone poles. People really notice those. Being on the edge of the layout (...) (17 years ago, 23-May-07, to lugnet.org.us.ulug, lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Weber County Scout Jamborall

To all, ULUG participated in a weekend Scout Jamborall in Weber County. The show was a great success but incredibly exhausting and short. 7 of us, as everyone knows who goes to train shows, spent 10 hours setting up and two hour taking down for a 6 (...)   Module idea for new layout section

Hello! I have decided to add a 16'(or possibly 18') x 2' section to my current layout. It will be along one of the walls in my layout room. This unfortunately means I have to move my current layout tables over appx 8" to give me enough space to walk (...) (17 years ago, 21-May-07, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)

Re: Who has made LDD truck/bogie designs?

(...) Here is another truck design (URL) truck design is a bit longer than a standard truck, which makes it more suitable for passenger cars. The design of the rungs also makes this truck more suitable for 8-stud wide trains. Note that because of (...) (17 years ago, 21-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) -- SNIP -- (...) Thanks. I've got to try that now. Also, thanks to the other Tim for the explanation and pics for the concertina wagon. -Paul (17 years ago, 21-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) Thanks (...) The other Tim has answered that better than I could. (...) It's a trick Samarth Moray showed me which he thought was invented by Ross or John Neal.   Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) This is the other Tim ;-) The concertina wagon has a solid roof/side in sections that slide inside one another, hence slight differences in size that Tim had worked so hard to reproduce.   Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) Like Chris, I too noticed that cool hopper while admiring the lovely SNOT-li-ness of your concertina wagon. (btw, what is a concertina wagon?) Tim, I've been meaning to ask you, since I've noticed it before, how do you do your trucks with the (...) (17 years ago, 20-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim)

Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) Cool, but I did you ever tell us about this one (which shares a gallery with your concertina wagon)? (URL) is also very nice, and I don't think I've seen 1x3 bricks with bow used that way before. Thanks for the inspiration, Chris (17 years ago, 20-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim)

  Re: LDD PRR T1 #6110

(...) Per above, I have added a bit more detailing to my LDD model. I added side steps and rails to the cab's side "doors". I extended the tender and added an access ladder and some marklights on the back... I would ideally use 1X3 smooth curves on (...) (17 years ago, 20-May-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(URL) Hi all, This remarkably plain wagon has a deadly secret inside... it's filled with SNOT!!!!   What size do you build your five-wide containers?

Hi all, As a recent convertee to five-wide containers I'm really curious what dimensions other people working with that width use. At present I'm using a 5x12 footprint (or larger multiples of six for larger containers), a main height of 5 bricks (...) (17 years ago, 19-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

(...) Bruce Chamberlain postulated that the problem is due to one of the 3-axle trucks being *pushed* through the curve rather than pulled. I suspect that a rubber band between the two 3-axle trucks would help - I will try that sometime. --Bill. (17 years ago, 19-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX)

Re: FRED- flashing rear end device

(...) Solution: don't put the light on the end. Put the light interior to the container, and pipe it to the end using a fiber-optic piece. The size of the flasher (about the size of a stud) would then be more correct, and it could be hidden about as (...) (17 years ago, 19-May-07, to lugnet.trains)
