Re: I like pink (was Fence colours)

John, (...) Either you are very ambitious, have a ton of bricks somewhere, or completely crazy, but good luck either way! My new year's resolution was not to buy any Town Junior, except the boats for the hulls. As for Scala, my mini-figs have enough (...) Try incorporating Scala! TLG has divided and conquered my bank account as my family tries to operated _3_ separate Lego universes-- Belville, Scala, and TrainsTrainsTrains. We have yet to explore the possibilities of inter dimensional contact, but (...) (26 years ago, 28-Feb-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Railroad Dilemma

To all, I finished the track design last night, (I will post some pictures on my webpage soon), and decided against doing both lines at the same time connected. I am willing to explore the possibility in the future, however. Now, for the monorail (...) (26 years ago, 28-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

I liked your train stock. It's very cool. I liked the green trolley car. It's very different. -Tom McD. P.s. Pegged your counter. (...) (26 years ago, 27-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Railroad Dilemma

Cut is such an ugly word...a small piece of electrical tape will open (disconnect) the circuit. However, if the wheels are on opposite sides of the cut/tape then a short occurs again. I think you need two cuts/tapes to keep the circuit open. Chris (...) (26 years ago, 27-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My new diesel electric

The nose is a cop out, and it is something that will have to be revisited. I couldn't think of a good way to put a railing accross the front; so, I gave up. I guess I really should go get The Great Book of Trains Brian Hollingsworth & Arthur Cook (...) (26 years ago, 26-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Railroad Dilemma

(...) Yes. I have. In fact, I have a reverse loop to reverse loop layout. Its not hard at all. All you have to do is cut the rails (both of them) in 2 pieces of track for each reversing loop. Then, you have a choice: LEGO or Radio Shack... You need (...) (26 years ago, 26-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My new diesel electric

Nice work, Chris. I like the staggered grey stripes and the radiator bubble in back. When I heard this was 8 wide, I was concerned that it wouldn't look "to scale" with other stuff but it looks good. I'm gonna have to start doing some of these half (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Slag Car: more detailed images -- WOW!

James, Please, you must become a designer at The LEGO Group! Excellent work on your slag car. As Chris pointed out, your attention to detail is amazing. You know, if TLG had any sense they'd hire people like James in a second. Once again, great job! (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

I missed the first post on this one. I must agree I am wowwed by your attention to detail! It is a great looking model. Are you going to build a steel mill so you have somewhere to use your slag car....molten red bricks flowing out of a blast (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My new diesel electric

Yes, the back of the engine is eight studs wide. I ran 2x8 and 2x? plates along the sides so I could attach the rail. There may be a way to attach the rail without going 8 wide, but I haven't had any clearance problems (train station 2150 and the (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My new diesel electric

(...) Going WIDE. Is the diesel electric wider than 7 studs across for the length of the technic axel railing? Nice job. Off-topic, I like the way the fence piece is used at an angle on the under side of the trolley. Neat effect. later, James Mathis (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)
