Ever wondered how the 4536 hoppers are loaded from above? My latest model is based on Redmire, a facility in the North East of England used for loading limestone quarried nearby into railway hopper wagons for onward transport to steel works. Its (...) Hi Tim, I know what you mean. For a while I was trying to get a 4558 on ebay but they always kept going way too high. However I have finally won my metroliner - two of them in fact! Hi Martin, Good choice! 8 wides just look great and it's a nice relation to the tracks! Some theory about maxiumum length: First of all, whatever you plan to build you just may use two pivots at each carriage. The other alternativ are (more or less) (...) James, The elevated train isn't a monorail, it's just a raised rail commuter train. It's meant to simulate the "public transportation" system here in Atlanta (MARTA - It only having two stops is kind of an inside joke for the locals since our light (...) Yes, they came with the 12V sets - i.e. 7715, 7722, 7735, 7745 etc. That's all we had to design our layouts before Matt Bates Track Designer. David (23 years ago, 30-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

I've been working on a pendular mechanism to tilt train cars through curves. A fun project! :-) There are quite a few train sets now that employ some type of pendular scheme, now; but, for me the Brit-Rail APT was my first introduction to a tilting (...)
