That's illegal.

How is this different from having instruction scans? I have lots of those

Come now, Richard!  You must have realized that this is a favorate arguing
point here on LUGNET!  8^)
I think the distinction between Brickshelf (as well as the various URL's
hosting sticker scans) and your request is that your request is for current
product material, while these other venues host older, out of production
materials (Brickshelf does, of course--other sites may be less scrupulous in
their respect for copyright.)  Regardless of the relative legality of
hosting out-of-production scans, LEGO has demonstrated a relaxed attitude to
such materials as long as they don't conflict with sales of current releases.

And if anyone still wants to send me the scans, I don't care about the file
format -- although TIFF might be best since it is a loss-less format.

Since I know precious little about this, how does BMP format rate for
lossfulness?  I know JPEG, of course, loses a bunch of resolution to
compression, but I don't know much about formats other than JPEG and GIF.
