I have a coach that is 60 studs long. It is 40 studs from truck pivot point to
truck pivot point. The car can negotiate any curve, but it cannot negotiate a
switch track that is placed directly after a curve (if the siding and the curve
go off in the same direction). The middle of the car hits the yellow thingy that
throws the switch track. As long as there is 1 piece of straight track between
the curve and the switch track, then the coach make it through just fine. If
your car is high enough off the ground this wouldn't be a problem, but typically
box cars are the only thing high enough off the track to clear that yellow thing.
