Hi. I had to remove the CTRL-M's from the file. After I did that it loaded into IC no problem. So the MS-DOS v3.1 beta 4 of IC doesn't handle them. But I came across another problem. When I try to load the servo_a5.icb and the servo_a7.icb that I downloaded from the handyboard web page I get the following error: Fatal internal error: Illegal line in .s19 file And then it completely kicks out of IC. I'd like to incorporate a pryroelectric IR detector into my robot design. "Mobile Robots" has some detail on sensors, but I'd like to keep it cheap. Here is a rule of thumb to keep handy when converting R/C cars to robots; o If the R/C car used either NiCd batteries, or it had a NiCd battery pack, the motors will draw too much current for the Handyboard. From your post it seems that only one battery was used. It is best to have the motor(s) running from a separate battery. Peter I tried to do modify a racer and found that the motors drew so much current that the board would continually reset. The freeware version of IC runs in a virtual DOS box. Check your configuration settings to make sure you give the maximal amount of conventional (640K) memory to the DOS box. (...) They can. The 600mA is really 600mA-h (milliamp hours). It's a rating on how long the pack lasts on a charge. If I recall correctly it's measured over 20 hours. Peter: run-time error 1 is "no stack place for start_process()". This is given in the IC/Handy Board manual. The reason is your "repeat" procedure, which keeps making more processes!! David -- The MAX662 chip I used on the last beta rev was not the magic bullet I hoped. Not only is there possibly the rise time problem you mention, but when the thing turns off, it outputs 5v. Hi Steve, The file hbtest.c allows you to test the various features of the Handy Board and make sure they are operational. To use hbtest.c, type "load hbtest.c" at the IC prompt. Well, I haven't looked at the sonar routines, but my guess is that 17 feet round trip at around 1ms / foot each way is close to 32.768 ms, which is when the 16 bit timer in the 6811 overflows (the 6811 clocks the 16-bit counter at 2 Mhz). 1. first, check if the board can go into DL mode when it is not attached to the host computer. power on with STOP held down, and it should go into DL mode, indicated by both the BATT and PWR LEDs lighting briefly and then turning off and staying (...) In building a Handyboard, all was well until the Motor Output Circuit. When running testmotor() none of LED1-8 illuminate. Yoni, (...) Use snapable male header strips. They come in lengths from a few pins to more than 30. I have not been able to get IC to accept any preprocessor functions such as #define or #ifdef. The c code therefore looks pitifully informal - sprinkled with magic numbers instead of DEFINEd values. I have heard that there is a way to turn of the LCD screen on the handyboard to save clock cycles. I have looked all around but cannot seem to find any info on how to do this. hi, i've run into some problems with my board. When i switch on the reset button the motor leds(red) 0 and 1 are on. The green led (power ready indicator) is also ON. I am having difficulty using the Encoders.c routine for the handyboard. I have written some code that continually reads the encoder (port 0) and writes it to the LCD, then waits 30 [ms] so that the value is readable. I called this code testsens.c (...)
