Thank you for the help, It was a cable problem I found a straight thru
adapter, and I was able to communicate with the HandyBoard.

Thanks again

Fred,
Thank you very much for your response, I was able to complete the first
step succesfully(1).

However Step 2 does not complete succesfully the Red Led goes off and the
green led stays on.

Here is how my cables are configured when I hooked up my board to the
computer, it is hooked into the
25 pin adapter(in computer), that has 25 to 9 pin then I hooked into a 9 to
25 to hook back to the mini board.  So my cables go 25F to 9M connected
to 9F to 25M connected to the miniboard.

(1) I assume when you say "miniboard," you actually mean the Serial
Interface/Charger board.  please be careful with your language because
the Mini Board is a different specific project that is not part of the
Handy Board system.

(2) It sounds like your cabling is the source of your problem.  If
your computer has a 25--pin port, then either (a) plug the Serial
Interface directly into your computer, or (b) get a
25-male-to-25-female straight--through cable and plug the Interface
board in using that.

If your computer has a 9-pin serial port, then you want a single
9-female to 25-male modem cable.
