I know that the cable works because a person I know has used the modem cable succesfully with their handyboard. 1. don't worry about the slightly out of spec voltages, +/- 5% is just not a problem. 2. you have already demonstrated that your board HW is OK by communicating from a Windows system. therefore 3. it is probably a cabling problem from your mac. you (...) Hi folks. Has anyone had any experience/success with interfacing a Motorola 6818 or 6818A clock chip to the 68HC11? I have some of both of these chips and would like to put them to use. I just finished building a handboard. I have found that the downloaders dl and dlm don't work in Windows 95, even if I reboot in DOS mode. after you download the S19 code, does your C program in the HB go away? i.e., whether or not you hold down start, your HB boots up with the IC message on the LCD? In the early 80's Micron Technology (Idaho, USA) made chips specially designed for this, I suspect they still do. i also have several F's. i didnt attempt to redo the board for the F though. i just got free demo's of the E from Motorola. When I was on AoL, I didn't give a rat's hindside about what sort of e-mail was sent, but now I'm on this strange UNIX-based THING that I really do dislike, which makes it a pain for any non-strictly text files, so I'd rather it was in plain text. Hi Rob, Based on the messages you're getting, I'm guessing you're running freeware IC under windows. If you run under DOS, it should work great. Mar, I've never seen a caster as small as you describe, but I have seen something that might work. I use a "captured ball" bearing instead of a caster on my robot, and it works really well (no swivelling needed to change direction). I got these at a (...) You can attach a servo to either Port A Bit 7 (Input 9) or Port A Bit 5 (TO3 (under the lcd display)) Which ever port you use you will need the code at the handyboard home page under software and dual servo control to make it work. Does anyone know of a cheap supplier of radio modems? I am looking for something with a few hundred foot range that can do 9600 bps. The answer is no, what I used is the schematic diagram for the Polaroid 6500 rangefinder board. the circuit is almost identical exept for a transistor preamp betwen the transducer and the receiver. does anybody out there have any schematics for using the polaroid transducers on the handyboard, I have two such transducers, but havint got a clue how they work or how to connect them to the handyboard. I've used the sonar board and transducer from several Polaroid "Pronto Land Cameras" for just that purpose in that past. I don't know how these compare to the Spectra; I would assume they're similar if not identical. There was an article in an old (...) (27 years ago, 21-Sep-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Did anyone ever opened up a Polaroid Spectra Instant camera? I did. The sonar rangefinder is almost identical to the Polaroid 6500 exept there are some problems that I encountered 1) BLNK and BINH have no efect on the ECHO output 2) The ECHO signal (...)
