  Re: Assembling the HandyBoard

(...) You need that resistor to stabilize the crystal frequency. Try Radio Shack if it is missing from the kit. It doesn't have to be 1/8 watt, 1/4 or 1/2 watt is fine, just make sure it is 2.2 megaohm. (...) So far so good. (...) There is probably (...) (...) Mine was doing what sounds like exactaly the same thing... Try replacing you MAX 232 chip if nothing else works, I blew mine out (god knows how) a while ago, and was acting like you said. Just a suggestion :) -Wes (28 years ago, 23-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  no download mode

I spilled coffee on my handyboard this morning - it was powered off at the time. There was liquid across several pins on the 6811, though. I removed the 6811 and cleaned it up, then reinserted it. Now, both red&green LCDs come on when I turn it on. (...) (28 years ago, 23-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Workin' its little heart out?

Hi, all... A generic 68HC11 question- I (sorta) got my code running this weekend. I'm trying to get a 68HC11E1 to operate all 4 OC and IC lines on interrupts. I have about 800 instruction cycles spread over 8 interrupt routines. The waveform I'm (...) (28 years ago, 23-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  serial port

Hello, I'd like my handyboard to communicate with my PC through the serial port. Since I am not a RS 232 specialist, I am looking for code on the PC side.   chip selects:

Perhaps I have just overlooked this in the documentation for the HB and IC. Is there an easy way to control the chip selects Y*? Are they memory mapped or harder to get to than that? Thanks for the info: patrick (28 years ago, 21-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
