So my friend and I were talking the other day about Clarke, Asimov, Chalker,
Heinlen, etc...

Can anyone name a really good science-fiction author that was born, say, after
1960?

How about Orson Scott Card. Ender's game, and many other very good
(in My opinion anyway) Sci-Fi books. Not too dry, and not too
much (but enough) science.

My son is reading Ender's Game as I type this (page 200).  I started after him
and zoomed by him to page 273 (just put it down so he could go read it - he has
to have it read for school by Sunday).  I'd agree with your analysis.
