I think mlcad is a great program and wanted to thank you for all of your hard work. It's the best windows based program I've seen for modeling. I would like the ability to undock windows. I've recently moved from a 19" monitor to a 15". It would be (...) (24 years ago, 1-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

When a piece is selected, there is a modify option. Very useful. I have two small requests concerning it. 1) I'd like a hot-key for it. Perhaps 'M'? So I can select and hit a key. Much like 'C' for change color. 2) I'd like the ability to specify (...) (24 years ago, 2-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Although I think this is unlikely to have a lot of people asking for it, I would like to see MLCAD multi-threaded. I just upgraded MLCAD from v1.7R2 to v1.9R4 and now the studs are just lines on top of the bricks. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks Jason (24 years ago, 19-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I love MLCAD and use it all the time. One thing that I would like to see that would really speed up my building time is a Favorites part folder that can hold as many parts as I want to put in it. When I'm building, I'm mainly using 'basic' (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) Yeah, so I've heard. As far as I'm concerned, as long as my Macromedia and Adobe stuff runs, along with MLCad and other LDraw utilities, I'm happy as a clam. I don't play many games at all. I am successfully using a cross section of the LDraw related applications in Windows 2000. MLCad, LDraw Add On, L3Lab, L3P Add on, L3P and POV Ray. I have not tried to run LEdit or LDraw since MLCad and L3Lab can replace those pretty well in the (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I actually had MLCad installed on my Windows 2000, worked fine. However, I did have trouble with L3P... But that might have been my fault... ;-) Oh! BTW Tim, you do realize you certain software might not be able to run on 2000, like certain games... (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I have never tried to run MLCad on 2000 since I do not have it, but until now I did not receive any hint that there are problems. From my best knowledge I can say I did no special thing in MLCad which would hinder it from running on 2000, beside (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I'm strongly considering purchasing Windows 2000 when I back up and reformat my system in the near future. I'm curious if MLCad and if LEdit will run in them. Keyboard command I launches the part window to allow you to enter the part number. So far I know LEdit expects the part number following the I and then creates a new part .... this is what MLCad does as well. The P command is used to change a (...) I have noticed two additional bugs in mlcad, involving the fractal landscape and picture generators. When using the fractal landscape generator, and pressing 'ok' after deciding on a particular image, the program crashes. always. ditto when using (...) (...) Gracias. The 32-bit version worked without a hitch. I had tried the 16-bit version yesterday and it crapped out every time. I've got a .DAT file that's ~50 Mb after exporting if from MLCAD. Is there anything that can convert a file this large (and potentially much larger) to .POV format? For your piece of mind, rendering this beast is not an issue. It will be done on our (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Yes it true .... You'll need: L3P and Povray (L3P is an example there are others as well, but I realy like this one since it's easy to use ...) Make sure they are installed properly then start MLCad. I am getting the feeling that separate programs are needed to generate POV or Raytraced pictures of models created in MLCAD, is this true? ok, i've found a few bugs myself, and i have a few suggestions: closing the picture generator window, once a large picture has been loaded, or sometimes just loading a large picture, yields a page fault: MLCAD caused an invalid page fault in module (...) If MLCAD can't find a particular file more than once it asks for everyone occurance - maybe you can create a 'Don't ask me about this file again' (...) (...) I'm sorry Michael, My problem was that I was confused about what mode I was in. It appears that you can only rotate the 3D model in Place mode, and not in View mode. I had this thought about MLcad: What about having different settings (not settings in the menu) for view-mode and construct-mode (place/move/size)? Since you are waiting already, I will report a bug. When I try to rotate a model in the 3D view using the mouse, it fails when the model is complex. (...) This is the right behavior (at least until now) if you select absolute rotation angles. In this case MLCad ignores all view angles and uses the specified one instead. I'm sorry, but I have found just another bug as it seems: I was trying to to fix the singular matrix error in the minifig torso subpart and had figured it had to do with som missing number in the rotation matrix. I haven't had much time to use your program since the last release, but rendering speed seams to have dramatically increased. And that's really nice. Thank you very much, I really like the 3 steps of export. This allows for L3P Post processing before going into POV. I can't seem to figure out how the "enter rotation" option works when you right click on a part. I'll enter a value in and sometimes the rotation makes sense, and other times I can't figure out why its doing whats its doing. For instance I'll rotate (...) I've closed implementation phase for V1.9 of MLCad now, in arround a week I hope that I'm ready to release it. Sure, I know. But that is what I use now. What I would like is a tool that can directly export Illustrator format or postscript, for that matter, from LDraw in 3D! Thus my story on MLCad (I hope ML reads this) that is allready printing in vector or (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Thanks for the new upgrade. It looks fabulous now, with no missing surfaces and the 3D-drag-rotation. It doesn't feel right to use though. Well, thank you Michael. MLCad 1.8 seems to work well. Mouse rotation and translation are very useful. Direct insertion of lines triangles and quads will give me a big help in parts creation. I hope you could soon add precise rotation functions to (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

As long as somebody is answering questions about color, maybe you can answer mine too. I've recently started using L3P as my conversion tool, and I've been quite happy with the results. However, it doesn't like some of the MLcad colors, such as (...) (25 years ago, 12-Mar-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
