  Winner of the December 2000 ldraw MOTM is.......
 
Hi all, I was going to do this later, but won't have time, so mid-Saturday it is. The winner for December 2000 is "the Gorgon" by William Fitzgerald. (URL) William for a very cool model. I see three reasons why this argument may be flawed, but I think we are confusing the meaning of subpart. 1) The Pxx number are all two digits, so 973p4.dat should never exist. 2) The same pattern on a part varient would be demand a suffix for (...) Chris, In a message you sent to me some time ago, you had mentioned that the "range" of "p40" to "p50" was set aside for the patterns from "Castle". I think there might be a (minor) error in 973p34.dat. I noticed in my "sort by number" parts list that 973p34 was titled "Minifg Torso with Open Jacket over Striped Vest". That's funny, Since my model was up for voting, the thought of trying to stuff the votes did pop into the back of my head. Hi all, OK, listen up. This message is for a small percentage of people out there. Voting more than once for a model does not work. All IP addresses are logged and it is easy to spot duplicates. Bezier and Hermite curves are very similar, but I don't use Bezier curves because the control points are not very user-friendly, I'd rather have tangents (...) Anyone else have this problem? I can't type in negative numbers into the center-offset boxes (X and Y offset) in LDLite (2.0b, I think -- the latest one on Paul Gyugyi's web site). If ray-tracing (using POV-RAY), you can distinguish be encoding a variant of the translated color -- I'm assuming you'll be using L3P -- to have a non-reflective version of (...) I'm very happy to get such a good reaction. Edgelines are coming later on because this requires some big changes, now i draw the axle and place cilinders over it, so edgelines would be crossing, this isn't good so I will have to change this method. Wow! This thing is incredible. This program doesn't just turn a bunch of subparts, it actually creates the axle out of triangles. The output is beautiful! It was missing the edgelines, though. Any chance you could add support for electric wires? (...) (24 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Forward: I'd rather stick with using P as the patterned-element designator. Add letters to the suffix, to allow up to 1296 patterns per part. I'm a bit new to this myself, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. I recommend using MLCAD (on Windows) to actually edit the LEGO models. This is a very good editor, but it only has rudimentary display capabilities. Then, get L3P to convert the MLCAD (...) (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Got it! the line was not there. I have played with this quite a bit, so I'll try to explain what it did. Paul, Just for grins, try the following to manually set the Editor's viewing option. 1. Edit ldraw.ini 2. Locate the section [LDAO Editor]. If that line doesn't exist, add it. 3. In the [LDAO Editor] section, look for a line like: ShowViewWindow=2 (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

A few things to note. First off, I added command line support relatively late in my LDView development. Sorry about the delay. The feature isn't working. It looks fine in some parts, but if you look at the tire in particular, some parts of the lines become dashed.
