Chris,

In a message you sent to me some time ago,
you had mentioned that the "range" of "p40" to "p50"
was set aside for the patterns from "Castle".

However, I just noticed that we've used all but one
of these pattern numbers for the minifig torsos.

I just started doing the notes for encoding a "Castle" m/f torso,
and I was wondering what we should do for any additional
minifig torso patterns from "Castle"?

For reference, here are the minifig torso patterns
already released for "Castle", plue their "neighbors".

973P31.DAT - Minifig Torso with Pirate Stripes Pattern (Red/Cream)
973P32.DAT - Minifig Torso with Pirate Stripes Pattern (Blue/Cream)
973P33.DAT - Minifig Torso with Pirate Stripes Pattern (Red/Black)
973P34.DAT - Minifg Torso with Open Jacket over Striped Vest
973P35.DAT - Minifig Torso with Imperial Guard Pattern
973P36.DAT - Minifig Torso with Pirate Captain Pattern
973P37.DAT - Minifig Torso with Imperial Guard Officer Pattern
973P41.DAT - Minifig Torso with Castle Chainmail Pattern
973P42.DAT - Minifig Torso with Castle Crossed Pikes Pattern
973P43.DAT - Minifig Torso with Black Falcon Pattern
973P44.DAT - Minifig Torso with Wolfman Pattern
973P45.DAT - Minifig Torso with Studded Armor Pattern
973P46.DAT - Minifig Torso with Forestman and Purse Pattern
973P47.DAT - Minifig Torso with Castle Red/Gray Pattern
973P48.DAT - Minifig Torso with Forestman Maroon Collar Pattern
973P49.DAT - Minifig Torso with Forestman Blue Collar Pattern
973P50.DAT - Minifig Torso with Forestman Black Collar Pattern
973P51.DAT - Minifig Torso with Blacktron II Pattern
973P52.DAT - Minifig Torso with Blacktron I Pattern

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Franklin

Based on recent discussions here, I think we have agreed to allow alpha
characters after the "p", to prevent pxx number expanfding to three digits (not
a problem for 973pxx, but potentially for 3626bpxx and similar). That means
that we can keep the Castle patterns together as 973p4_.dat where _ can now
include a thru' z. Please note that p40 is already taken (and registered on the
ttracker) for the breastplate pattern, so I think you can go ahead and use
973p4a, 973p4b, et seq.

Regards, Chris

(...) I remember it being discussed, but I don't recall any agreement. The flaw I saw with this proposal is, is the file "973p4a.dat" an independent part all its own, or is it merely the first _sub_part of "973p4.dat"? The more I've been thinking (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
